December will mark 1 month of sharing ban enforcement...1 month of Jillian Pim's hunger strike. 1 month of cruel and apathetic City officials taking food away from the hungry. Fort Lauderdale thought homeless advocates were bluffing about making this an international scandal for the City, about fighting this in the streets, fighting this in the courts, and putting our safety, freedom, and lives on the line to protect the lives of the homeless.
Jillian's health will be dangerously deteriorating by December. If the sharing ban is still going by then, then we are CANCELLING CHRISTMAS. We are calling now for a mass boycott campaign of downtown Fort Lauderdale Christmas events, many of which are multi-million dollar bonanzas for the same wealthy businesses who support the sharing ban.
Not only that but we will be calling for mass civil disobedience at these large events. The first such event is Christmas on Las Olas on Tuesday, December 4th. Las Olas Boulevard, which is overwhelming owned and managed by sharing ban supporters including board members of the Downtown Development Authority, and boasts attendence in the tens of thousands.
The second such events are the Winterfest Boat Parade on December 13th. The 3rd is the Orange Bowl New Year's Eve Party. We also ask for those that wish to help Cancel Christmas in Fort Lauderdale to autonomously organize to boycott and disrupt these festivities and any others during the holiday season.
